You cant make a new super yacht out of an older large yacht, this might look alright if it was really cheap but if you want a new super yacht you should buy a new super yacht, this is false economy.

I would even con ideé it if the asking price was 250k there is just a lot going on to fix.. amd that just looking at a proper hull Fix … not using fillers.. lol

Ha! with the tacky decor of dark red carpets, shite yellow red walls, then the bed linens, and the overall institutional/hospital look of everything else, I guessing some Sheik owned it before. Seriously. And I just looked around wow! I was right! It is/was owned by the royal family of Dubai. I guess to them it looked like luxury. To me it looks like, gah. A lot of work is required to make it look like a yacht if one were to buy it. And that's just the decor. If the bridge is any indicator, the operational, mechanical, and electrical systems will probably need to be replaced and/or extensively overhauled, depending what it is. Like the bridge, if I actually had that kind of money, I'd strip it right down, and including all the systems that connect it to the operational systems, and who knows what else. I bet a 10 million refit at least. Might be cheaper just to buy new. Probably would.

This thing hasn’t been refit since the early 00’s and it shows. Great potential but you can tell the owners haven’t maintained it like a vessel of this caliber should be. If 30 million is the asking price, with today’s costs, you’re looking at 45-65 million to bring this thing into the modern spec. That’s at least 75 million, at least 6 months at dry dock and probably a 2 year total refit. An owner would otherwise be able to buy a newer, better maintained vessel for less OR buy a newer ice breaker that’s being retired and refit it in about the same time for less and have exactly what they want. Tough sell for sure, I’ll be interested to see if anyone picks the project up!

It's like walking into an old persons home that hasn't been updated. I imagine the moth ball smell, or old smell. The only thing missing is the plastic cover over the 1960 era furniture. Although for the right person, and right price, it could be cheaper than building new from keel up, and still getting to design the interior and everything eise to their specs.

I like the more classic interior and furnishings, none of that all white and off-white soulless modernism.

With a wooden plank vessel, you can replace planks, the vessel can last 100 years. With fiberglass and steel its much easier. The 1850's Barque/ iron ship Euterpe/ Star of India; now in San Diego, received a new bottom back in the 1970s and still sails today.
